Downeast Graphics and Printing, a business based in Ellsworth, Maine, was established in 1974 by Charles Ferden with the goal of providing graphic design and quality printing services to businesses, organizations, and individuals along the coast of Maine and beyond. As one of the first printers in Maine to offer in-house design services, Downeast Graphics has continued this tradition and has grown to offer digital printing services to complement its offset printing services. Our team of graphics and printing professionals has honed their skills to keep pace with the changes in the industry, and we are proud to have served Downeast Maine for over 44 years.

Graphic & Creative Services

At Downeast Graphics, we understand the importance of making a strong first impression. Pre-Press Services

Once your project has been designed, it moves to our pre-press department where it is laid out for printing. At Downeast Graphics, we have embraced modern technology and no longer use film or chemicals. Instead, printing plates are made directly from impositioned files or set up to go to one of our digital presses. Though some of us still remember the days of lead type, we have fully embraced the digital age.

Printing Services

We are proud to offer traditional offset printing for projects of any size, from greeting cards and posters to annual reports and company forms. Our press room is equipped with single and multi-color presses to handle any project, whether it requires one color, process color, or a combination of Pantone colors.

We also offer digital printing services, which allow for shorter runs of printed media at an affordable price. This allows you to keep your piece current and fresh, and is a great way to try out a new marketing idea without the expense of printing thousands of copies that may not be used.

Bindery & Finishing Services

Once your project is printed, it moves to our in-house bindery department for finishing. We have the capability to handle any binding project, from simple saddle-stitching to complex perfect binding. We also offer a variety of other finishing options, including laminating, die-cutting, and foil stamping, to give your project a professional and polished look.
