Printmaking Community & Education in Seattle
Seattle Print Arts is a member-driven association dedicated to advancing printmaking as a vital artistic medium. Founded on principles of education, community, and accessibility, we foster collaboration among artists, collectors, and arts professionals across the Pacific Northwest. Our programs include competitive fellowships, grants, and print exchanges that support emerging and established artists while prioritizing inclusivity and equity. We actively work to diversify our board and membership, ensuring representation from BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and economically diverse communities.Through partnerships with institutions like Pratt Fine Arts Center and funding from 4Culture, we provide resources, studio access, and exhibition opportunities to sustain printmaking traditions while embracing innovation. Our commitment to anti-racism and community engagement guides all initiatives, including pay-what-you-can memberships starting at $1/year. By honoring Indigenous land stewardship and hosting events like our Annual Print Exchange, we strengthen connections between artists and audiences regionally and beyond.

These competitive programs provide financial support for printmakers developing new works. Selected artists receive $3,000 stipends to advance their projects while gaining professional exposure. Recipients also gain one-year membership benefits and must present their work at our annual meeting, creating valuable networking opportunities for both emerging and established artists.
Print Exchanges
Our annual unjuried exchange allows members to submit 12 prints and receive 10 curated works in return. This program facilitates artistic discovery while building our archival collection. Participants gain exposure through exhibitions at venues like Postmark Center for the Arts and access to regional printmaking communities.
Community Grants
The Pratt/SPA Partner Grant offers Puget Sound printmakers $1,000 toward classes, supplies, and studio fees. Recipients receive Pratt membership benefits including specialized equipment access and technical training opportunities that enhance their professional development and artistic capabilities.
Membership Programs
Our flexible membership model creates access points for diverse participants. Members gain entry to exclusive events, resource sharing networks, and professional development opportunities while supporting our mission to expand printmaking accessibility across socioeconomic levels.
