Our Story

Our journey began in 1928 when Howard Rhodes started his printing career at the Hardin News in Hardin, Missouri. After working his way through college, Howard bought the Hardin News at the age of 20. After World War II, Howard started the Ray County Herald in Richmond, Missouri, before moving to Laramie, Wyoming in 1955 to purchase an interest in a small commercial printing plant. With the help of his new wife, Howard revived the ailing business, which eventually became Mountain States Lithographing.
