DTG Printing: Vibrant, Long-Lasting Images
Direct to Garment printing, or DTG printing, is a cutting-edge digital printing technique that allows us to print vivid, durable images directly onto textiles. We use the DTG process to print on a wide range of items, including:
- Unisex shirts
- Women's shirts
- Men's shirts
- Junior's shirts
- Youth shirts
- V-neck shirts
- Long sleeve shirts
- Moisture wicking shirts
- Tanks
- Hoodies
- Onesies
- Quarter zip pullovers
- Tote bags
- And many more!
Please note that for rush orders, an additional fee will apply. If you have a specific due date, kindly let us know.
The DTG Process: Pretreatment, Printing, and Curing
Our DTG process consists of three main steps:
1. Pretreatment: We apply a liquid solution over the print area to allow the ink to adhere to dark garments. This solution is then cured using heat prior to printing.
2. Printing: Using a white base coat, the color image is applied to the garment.
3. Curing: The garment is dried using high heat to seal the printed image.
Certain considerations should be kept in mind when using DTG printing:
- Direct to Garment pieces should be washed before the first wear and always washed inside out in cold water to preserve the design.
- 100% cotton is the ideal material for DTG printing.
- DTG Pretreatment Marks: When using DTG printing, a pretreatment liquid is applied to the garment to ensure the white ink doesn't soak in. This liquid can sometimes discolor slightly during the curing process and leave a slightly off-color residue. This is entirely normal and should dissipate after the first wash.
Wholesale Pricing and Garment Selection
At IR-Tees, we offer wholesale pricing for customers with a resale certificate. For customers who prefer to provide their own garments, please remember that you are responsible for how your garments respond to the pretreating, printing, and curing phases of our DTG production process. We cannot be held responsible for replacing any garments that show signs of pretreatment.
We encourage our clients to select garments based on:
- Using 100% cotton garments
- How well they print
- How well they wash after curing
- How well they accept the pretreatment fluid
Our pricing structure is as follows:
