Our Artist's Statement

Living a life dedicated to prayer and solitude has given me the gift of sensitivity to the beauty of nature. I find inspiration in the simple yet profound beauty of flowers, trees, water, and sky. Sunrise and sunset, the moments when the veil between heaven and earth is thin, are especially close to my heart. I believe that these moments hold a special magic that I try to capture in my paintings.

My artistic style is a blend of realism and abstraction. I love using different techniques such as crinkled textures of Masa paper or pure colors poured on illustration board to create a unique and harmonious picture. I also enjoy incorporating collage elements to complete the vision I have in mind. I am especially fond of watercolor when it does its "O Happy Fault" - a term used by mystics to describe the unexpected and beautiful results that can occur when the artist surrenders to the process.
