Lawrence Lithography Workshop has been preserving the art of traditional hand lithography since 1979. Founded by master printer Michael Sims, we specialize in collaborating with artists to create original, hand-pulled lithographs using techniques ranging from stone lithography to photo-based methods. Over our four-decade history, we have partnered with more than 200 artists across the United States to produce nearly 600 prints and portfolios. Our dedication to quality and innovation has earned us a place in prestigious public, private, and corporate collections, including those of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the Library of Congress. We relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, where we continue to offer our expertise to both emerging and established artists.Our team's deep technical knowledge and commitment to preserving traditional printmaking methods set us apart as one of the Midwest's few privately owned fine art publishing presses. Established TLLW in 1979 as a contract printing studio. MFA in Printmaking from Ohio University. Taught lithography at University of Kansas before founding the workshop. Primary focus on traditional stone lithography techniques.

How can I visit The Lawrence Lithography Workshop and Gallery?

What is your return policy for purchased prints?
Prints may be returned within 30 days for full refund if not as described. All sales final for items listed as 'Price Upon Request' or 'Unavailable'.
Are your prints considered valuable collectibles?
Our limited editions are collected by major museums including the Nelson-Atkins Museum and the Smithsonian. Works by renowned artists like Roger Shimomura attain significant collector value.
Do you offer printmaking workshops or education programs?
While we no longer offer public classes, we provide hands-on demonstrations during gallery visits and maintain educational resources about lithographic processes and history.
