The Mark-It

At The Mark-It, we are a local Harrisonburg, VA print and embroidery shop focused on providing quality custom apparel service in a timely manner. We place a premium on quality artwork and personal service, and because of our size, our customers can communicate directly with the people who will be embellishing their items. We are proud to provide custom t-shirts, apparel, and more to many of the businesses, bands, organizations, and individuals who make the Friendly City so special. We aim to invest in our community and print great shirts for our neighbors while also serving customers nationally.

Our history began as a kiosk in the Valley Mall in the early 1990's before moving to a nearby storefront location several years later. In 2002, the shop moved to the Deyerle Avenue shopping center. In late 2010, current owner Susie Diehl purchased the business and in June 2011, Jeff Guinn became a partner. At the end of 2011, The Mark-It moved into a newly renovated space on Deyerle Avenue. In the summer of 2015, The Mark-It picked up shop and moved to downtown Harrisonburg where it currently operates.

• Jeff Guinn

Owner / Manager / Designer

The shop's fearless leader, Jeff, hails locally from Cross Keys, Virginia. He is a graduate of Spotswood High School and holds a BFA in graphic design from James Madison University. Jeff has over a decade of apparel design experience and in his spare time, enjoys creating art, watching live music, and climbing mountains. He and his wife Emily have three children: Afton, David, and Eliza.

Owner / Embroiderer

Susie has been a co-owner and mainstay of the Mark-It since October of 2010. You have her to thank for just about anything you've had embroidered here at the shop! She grew up in Waynesboro, VA and moved to Harrisonburg 26 years ago. Susie and her husband Marty own a turkey/beef cattle farm and have three kids: Logan & Seth who also own a turkey farm, and Kelsi, a Junior in High School.

Screen Printer / Ink Master

The moon is her hometown. The screen printing floor is her domain. She enjoys short jokes, dogs, cats, wood dust, printmaking, & plants. This is who we can thank for all of the beautiful green plant life around the shop that cleans the air and keeps the place feeling lively!
